In the spring of 2009 Miss Ferguson held a "high tea" party to honour the ladylike tradition of her late mother, Betty Ferguson, one of PCOP's patients. She encouraged her guests to make donations to PCOP to help her thank the team for their support and kindness during her mother's illness. The result? $215 was raised for the PCOP.
In June 2010 Miss Ferguson held her second "annual" tea party, raising $260 for PCOP. Guests at the party enjoyed an assortment of teas from Nectar in Westboro, Miss Ferguson's homemade finger sandwiches that included curried chicken, and radish and cream cheese, as well as her homemade scones and strawberry jam, and finally her chocolate cake and sugar cookies.
In April 2011, she expanded her guest list, as well as her tea menu. Ladies enjoyed an array of finger sandwiches, sugar cookies, miniature red velvet cupcakes, cinnamon twists, lemon squares, and fresh strawberries. Accompanying the treats were three different teas, advised again by the tea master at Nectar in Westboro. In all, over $600 was raised for the PCOP.
In three years, Miss Ferguson's tea parties have raised over $1000 for the Palliative Care Outreach Program.
